Pharmaceutical Pricing & Reimbursement in Central & Eastern Europe
Event Overview
This event will present a fresh and original perspective on communicating the cost-effectiveness of high-value drugs to key players and stakeholders in the former communist countries of Central and Eastern Europe (CEE EU members, The Balkans and the former Soviet states).
The conference will be unique because unlike other general, pan-European pricing & reimbursement meetings or broadly-focused CEE Pharma events, it will specifically focus on pricing &reimbursement of high value drugs in the CEE region. All participants will be exposed to the decision making processes of payers and other influential stakeholders in key markets and will achieve a clearer understanding of the different trends and reforms which will be taking place.
National governments in CEE are committed to increasing patient access to medicine and improving the quality of health care. However, although health budgets are generally increasing, payers are increasingly looking for better value for money, increasingly if this also means reimbursing the most expensive, but “cost-effective” drugs in the longer-term. Health technology assessment and determining “cost effectiveness” in a systematic way, has never been so important in CEE. HTA structures, agencies and concepts are developing quickly. With continued rapid economic growth and rising health spending, The CEE region still offers vast opportunities for pharmaceutical manufacturers and distributors to access and penetrate a range of therapeutic markets, both in the newer EU member states as well as those in the Balkans and the former Soviet Union.
Meet and hear opinions from senior figures representing distinct stakeholder groups: Ministries of health and their advisors, leading pharmaceutical companies, health-technology assessment experts, patient groups, respected health economists, senior hospital and health insurance representatives. Those attending will achieve a comprehensive understanding and complete picture of pricing & reimbursement models in key CEE countries. This will ensure the event’s attendees the ability to realise successful marketing strategies and to take market-access to the next level.
